Public Firewood Summer Closure

Effectively immediately all public firewood cutting opportunities have been suspended for the summer season.  This suspension aims to minimize the risk of human-initiated forest fires.  We look forward to bringing this program back in the fall once cooler, wetter weather returns.

Please continue to check our blog for firewood cutting at this time.

Closure of Mount Arrowsmith CPR Trail and vicinity

The Mount Arrowsmith CPR Trail and connecting Lookout Trail and Lookout Loop Trail will be closed to the public weekdays effective June 10, 2012 until September 4, 2012..  This closure is required to mitigate safety risks involved with road construction in the area.  The Regional District of Nanaimo will be signing this closure on the ground as well as sharing this information on their website, as they hold a non-exclusive license for trail maintenance in this location.

This closure may be extended beyond the Labour Day long weekend.  Watch this blog for an update as the summer progresses.
