Fire Closure - Weekend of August 31 to September 3

Area fire closure status is unchanged from the previous two weekends.

The majority of Island Timberlands' are in high or extreme fire danger class ratings.

As a result, all gated and un-gated properties on the east and west sides of Vancouver Island are closed for public recreation this weekend.

In areas where we experience a high rate of gate vandalism, we may or may not choose to physically shut these gates. Instead, we will take the approach of increasing awareness through signage and have our roaming security team visit recreationalists where accessible to address our concerns of the fire danger risk.

Thank you for respecting this request. Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend.
