  1. Great info on Qualicum trail closures, but what is the status of the Alberni Inlet Trail and portions of trails around the "Log Train Trail" in Port Alberni.

  2. The status of the Log Train Trail is best gathered from the ACRD website and their staff team (http://www.acrd.bc.ca/cms.asp?wpID=151). The start of the Log Train Trail that runs through Island Timberlands' Cold Creek property is open for respectful recreation through the remainder of 2012 and through winter 2013. This portion of the Log Train Trail will be best captured through annoucements related to Cold Creek.

Feel free to email environment@islandtimberlands.com if you have a very specific question.

  3. The first phase of the Alberni Inlet Trail is open for respectful recreation through the remainder fo 2012 and winter 2013.
Beyond the Regional Park at China Creek some trail closures may exist due to forest harvesting and related activities. This is along the unofficial Phase II of the Alberni Inlet Trail. Closure signs along the trail should be present if there is activity nearby that warrants a safety concern.

  4. Trails in this area should be open for general use weekdays. However, if signage is encountered indicating it is an active worksite please respect signage and operators and recreate elsewhere for the short term.
