To harvest firewood, cash for a permit is required at the gate.  Cost varies from $20-$30 per load.  You must show suitable safety gear to be issued a permit; this includes eye protection, hard hat, chainsaw pants and protective footwear.

The road system (Cameron Main - Pass Main) leading up to Mt. Arrowsmith Regional Park is planned to be open for the weekend.  Hiking up the CPR Trail is open for the weekend.

The road systems accessing Mt. Apps and Mt. Clifton are expected to be closed for the weekend.

  4. The Nanaimo River gate on Nanaimo Lakes Road is located approximate 6.5km west of the road junction with South Forks Road. There will be no public firewood permits issued in the area at this time.
