The following gates are expected to be open this weekend, and holiday Monday (Family Day).
We permit access on weekends only.  Do not expect any additional gates to be opened
  • Copper Canyon:  Open 8am / close 4pm
  • Northwest Bay:  Open 8am / close 4pm
  • Cameron Main : Closed at 8km
  • Cameron Connector:  Open
  • Ash Main, Comox Main, Canal Main:  Open
  • Pass Main (access to Mt. Arrowsmith):  Closed
  • Buckley Bay:  Closed
  • Oyster River: Closed

These gates will be closed promptly at these posted times.  You will be locked in for the night if you do not plan your exit time accordingly.

All other gates not listed may or may not be open, and may be closed at any time.

If you enter with your vehicle you risk being locked in; we will not send staff out to open any gate for you after hours, or if it is not posted to be open.  You may have to pay a tow truck to have your vehicle removed.

Firewood harvesting for personal use is available; please review the firewood specific blog post for the weekend.

No fires, no camping, and no off-road vehicles (i.e. ATVs, UTVs, buggies or side-by-sides) are authorized on our private property.

Please also note all recreational access closures for regional trails.

Thank you, and have a safe long weekend.

  1. I'm curious, where does the numbering for distance on the Cameron Main start? (i.e. where is the 8km mark?)

    Thanks, Dave

  2. Kilometer zero is at the start of the road at the Cameron Yard, where Bamfield Main begins, and Ship Creek Road terminates.

  3. Is the copper canyon area open this weekend Feb 13-14?
Can one get to Mt Brenton? I'm with the snowmobile club and there are rumours spreading around about the gate.
