Access Information for the Weekend of June 25 - 26

The following gates and major roads are expected to be open this weekend.  

No fires, no camping, and no off-road vehicles (i.e. ATVs, UTVs, buggies or side-by-sides) are authorized on our private property.
Do not expect any additional gates to be opened.  Gate times are effective sunrise to sunset unless otherwise specified for this weekend.
  • Cameron Main: Open; access to BC Recreation Site at Labour Day Lake is available
  • Cameron Connector:  Open
  • Ash Main:  Open; access to BC Recreation Sites at Lowry Lake and Scout Camp/Beach is available
  • Pass Main:  Open;  access to Mt. Arrowsmith is available 
  • Comox Main:  Open;  access to 21.9 KM
  • Museum Main:  Open; access to BC Recreation Site at Father and Son Lake is available 
  • Northwest Bay:  Open 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Shawnigan Main:  Open 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Chemainus Main (Copper Canyon):  Open; access to 22 KM  8:00 AM - 4:00 PM


  1. Is camping allowed at Nimnim lake this coming long weekend?

    1. Overnight camping is not permitted on Island Timberlands Property. There is one authorized campsite on Island Timberlands property located at Macktush Creek on the West side of the Alberni Canal.

  2. If I have aa licensed radio and make the appropriate calls on the roadroad, can we head up to arrowsmith mon to fri?

  3. Is the Shawnigan Main gate the same as the Glenora gate

  4. Due to industrial activity on the Cameron Mainline, this mainline is closed to the Public and Non-Authorized traffic Monday through Friday.

  5. Is the Shawnigan Main gate the same as the Shawnigan Glenora gate

  6. Yes, As one can appreciated, there are many historical references to this location. Some people also refer to this gate location as Holt Main.

  7. Hey is Comox Lake Main open the Canada day long weekend on Friday?

  8. Comox Main is open up to 21.6 KM for this long weekend.
