  1. Is Comox Logging Rd (as marked on google maps) have any closed gates, or is it the same road as Comox Main as described in this post. Im looking to do a day hike to century sam lake this weekend. The trialhead for this lake is the same as Comox Glacier.

    Thanks

    1. I'm not familiar with the location of Century Sam Lake, but it sounds like you can either access it via Comox main starting in Port Alberni, or Comox Main in Cumberland. Regardless of where you begin on Comox Main (Port Alberni or Cumberland), you will encounter locked gates at 18.6 km, 21.6 km and 28.0 Km. Due to heavy industrial use on these radio controlled roads, there is no public access permitted on these roads Monday thru Friday

    1. Comox main starts in Port Alberni and ends in Cumberland. This gate closes at 3:30. The only gate we have near Ladysmith is our Chemainus Main (Copper Canyon) and it closes at 4:00. You might be thinking of a different gate? Perhaps it belongs to Timberwest?
