The following openings/closures are in effect for this weekend:

  • Horne Lake North 200:  Closed
  • Ash Main: Gate at 28.6 km will be Open at 9:00 AM and Locked at 3:30 PM
  • Comox Main: Open 8:30 AM - Closed 4:00 PM
  • Museum Main: Open 8:00 AM - Closed 4:00 PM
  • Northwest Bay:  Open 8:00 AM - Closed 4:00 PM
  • Chemainus Main (Copper Canyon): Open 8:00 - Closed 4:00 PM
    • Chemainus main Closed at 22 KM
  • Mines Road: Closed
  • Glenora (Shawnigan):  Closed
  • Buckley Bay: Closed
  • Ashling Road (Spider Lake): Closed
  • Oyster River:  Closed
  • Nanaimo River Camp:  Closed
There will be one area open for Public Firewood cutting this weekend.  The area is known as Black Powder Road and it's located across the Highway from the Coombs Candy Store at the bottom of the Alberni Hump in Port Alberni.  The Black Powder Club is managing this cut-block and permits are $30.

Temporary Closure - Alberni Inlet Trail

There will be a short term closure of the Inlet Trail from the entrance just above the China Creek dryland sort to approximately 1km up the trail while we harvest in the area. 



The closure will start the week of January 16th and be complete in approximately two months (dependent on weather).  Please heed all signs and see the blog for any updates.

Unless otherwise noted in this blog, all of Island Timberlands' Property is closed to the public during the week, this includes hunting.  Unauthorized access, at any time, will not be tolerated and mobile Security patrols are active 24/7 to enforce this policy.  

Off-Roading is not permitted on Island Timberlands Property.  Please respect the environment and keep your vehicles on the main travelled roads at all times.


No fires, camping, target practice/shooting or off-road vehicles (i.e. Snow Mobiles, ATVs, UTVs, buggies or side-by-sides)  are permitted on our property, unless authorized by Island Timberlands.

Don't let the few Criminals ruin access for everyone! If you see any suspicious activities on our lands you can report them!  Do not put yourself in an unsafe situation or confrontation.
