Access information for the weekend of Nov 18th to the 19th, 2017

HAZARD ALERT: All areas have experienced exceptional amounts of precipitation. Be alert for flooding, washouts and dangerous road conditions.

Cameron Operation:  The Cameron Connector gates will be will be closed this weekend. The Cameron Connector is blocked between Highway 4 and Cameron Main.  Public access to Pass Main (Mount Arrowsmith)  and Labour Day Lake will be via Cameron Main from 0kms at the Cameron shop.

Comox and Ash Operation: Will be closed to the public on Saturday November 18th and will be open Sunday November 19th all visitors are asked to respect the signs and not to enter active worksites.

Chemainus (Copper Canyon) Operation: Open, up to 22km Public access Saturday and Sunday.

Northwest Bay Operation: Will be open Saturday and Sunday. Equipment will be operating in some areas obey the signs and do not go beyond an active work site sign.


Buckley Bay Operation: There will be Operational activities occurring in the Buckley Bay Operation this weekend, therefore this area will be closed to the public for both Saturday and Sunday Nov 18th and 19th. 
 
Nanaimo River Camp: Will be open Saturday and Sunday. 


Oyster River Operation: Will be open Saturday and Sunday. 

Please use caution and be aware that you may encounter heavy equipment at any time this weekend.

Please Note: On weekdays, access is closed to the public unless authorized by Island Timberlands. Gates may be open to facilitate access by operational equipment and vehicles and may be closed anytime.

ATV Use on Island Timberlands Property

Island Timberlands has entered into access agreements with 2 ATV clubs on Vancouver Island, they are: The Comox Valley ATV Club and the Mid-Island ATV Club.  With similar values that include promoting safe and respectful recreational use of our land this agreement continues to build positive momentum and opportunities for those wishing to ride ATV's on Island Timberlands Roads and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.  For more information on either club contact:






CSWM Launches Illegal Dumping Prevention Program

Comox Strathcona Waste Management (CSWM) has launched a new program aimed at preventing illegal dumping across the region. This new program includes a public education and awareness campaign and a new illegal dumping bylaw.

Unauthorized access, at any time, will not be tolerated.
Unless otherwise authorized, ATV's and Snow Mobiles are not permitted on Island Timberlands Property. In addition, campfires, camping and off-roading are not permitted. Please respect the environment and keep your vehicles on the main travelled roads at all times.
