Access information for the weekend of Jan 13th and 14th, 2018
Caution – Winter Conditions
Not all roads are plowed and hazardous road
conditions may exist.
Cameron Operation:
The Cameron Connector gates will be will be closed this weekend. The Cameron
Connector is blocked between Highway 4 and Cameron Main. Public access to
Pass Main (Mount Arrowsmith) and Labour Day Lake will be via Cameron Main
from 0 kms at the Cameron shop.
Alberni Valley Inlet Trail:
Please be advised that Island Timberlands is harvesting their Managed Forest at
Ship Creek Road in and around the Alberni
Valley Inlet Trail. For the next two months, the Inlet Trail and trails
at Ship Creek Road will be closed from Monday to Friday to allow for this work.
This closure includes the trail from the south parking lot near Franklin Forest
Products, (Bell’s Bay).Trails will be open to the public on weekends. Please
use caution when in the area and adhere to any posted signage.
Log Train Trail and McLean’s Mill: There will be trail closures on
Island Timberlands’ property, near the McLean’s mill, to ensure your safety while
harvesting is taking place.
- Closures will apply to the following trails:
- A portion of the Log Train Trail (Km 7-8)
- The access trail from the LTT to McLean’s Mill
- Additional secondary trails in the vicinity of the main trails described above
- The closure is effective immediately
- The Log Train Trail will re-open within two weeks
- The Mill access trail and secondary trails will re-open 4-5 weeks

Comox and Ash Operation: Will be open to the public this weekend.
Crews and equipment will be operating in some areas; please obey the signs and
do not go beyond an active work site sign.
Northwest Bay Operation: 142 main is closed Saturday beyond 5Km due to
an active worksite and beyond 12.4 km this weekend due to snow. Please do
not go beyond an active work site sign.
Chemainus (Copper Canyon) Operation: Will be open up to the 22km gate.

Please Note: On weekdays, access is closed to the public unless authorized by Island Timberlands. Gates may be open to facilitate access by operational equipment and vehicles and may be closed anytime.
Authorized ATV access to Island Timberlands' Roads
Island Timberlands has entered into
access agreements with 2 ATV clubs on Vancouver Island, they are: The Comox
Valley ATV Club and the Mid-Island ATV Club. With similar values
that include promoting safe and respectful recreational use of our roads this agreement allows for legal and
authorized access to our private lands. It is our hope that
these agreements will help to continue building positive
co-operation with ATV club enthusiasts and provide future opportunities
for those wishing to ride their ATV's on
Island Timberlands' roads. For more

Authorized Snow Mobile access to Island Timberlands
Island Timberlands has renewed it access agreement with the North Island Snow Mobile Club (NISC). The NISC has authorized access to specific roads and area in our Oyster River Operation. For more information on the NISC contact:

CSWM Launches Illegal Dumping Prevention Program
Comox Strathcona Waste Management (CSWM) has
launched a new program aimed at preventing illegal dumping across the region.
This new program includes a public education and awareness campaign and a new
illegal dumping bylaw.

Unauthorized Access or Suspicious Activities
Unauthorized access, at any time, will not be
tolerated.
Unless otherwise authorized, ATV's and Snow Mobiles are not permitted on Island
Timberlands Property. In addition, campfires, camping and
off-roading are not permitted. Please respect the environment and keep your
vehicles on the main travelled roads at all times.
Don't let the few criminals ruin access for
everyone!
If you see any suspicious activities on our lands
you can report them! Please do not put yourself in an unsafe situation or
