Can it be explained how i can get a key to the gates. I see often cougar houndsmen going through the gates with keys while I have to wait for the gate keeper to show up. This is at the deerholme gate. I would like the same advantages that they have.
ReplyDeleteI can understand your frustration. Without a vehicle description or licence plate, I don't know if these "cougar houndsmen" are authorized to use our key to access our property. It's unlikely they are authorized to use our key for cougar hunting, however we do work with some individuals either associated or employed with the Ministry of Environment.
DeleteTo briefly answer your question on how to get a key: You may apply for a key via our Website www.islandtimberlands.com. Hover you pointer over the word contact (top right hand corner of the page)and click or press enter on your keyboard. After you've entered your name and email, go to the Type Of Enquiry section and choose from the dropdown menu - ACCESS. Someone will get back to you with further questions and help you through the process to determine if you are qualified to receive a key.
As a reminder, you can also go to this same location on our website and choose "Report A Suspicious Activity". If you do think someone has one of our keys and is accessing our land outside of the conditions where they have been granted a key, i.e. entering through a gate to go hunting, please let us know - a vehicle description and licence plate number will help us determine if the key user is authorized or not. The majority of our keys are issued for Business Use Only, if someone is using our keys for purposes other than business we would very much appreciate your assistance in letting us know. Regards...and I hope this helps
I wont be reporting suspicious activity as I am required to leave my name and email which will get used against me. I do know the parties involved have a special arrangement with security where they call and he grants them permission. I dont beleive you are aware of that. Presently these indidvuals are seeking to obtain a trap lease on the malahat to increase the areas for their cat hunting adventures.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what you mean about anything being used against you - but we respect your concern about anonymity. You could use the instructions I posted and just put in "Joe" for a name, and Joe@hotmail.com for an email. This would keep your identity secure. You could also call 250-927-6828 and leave a message or email access@islandtimberlands.com.
DeleteWe would very much like to hear if anyone is using our key for purposes other than business. As per our Key Form agreement any Contractors or Consultants found to be using our key(s) to access our land for uses other than business, are subject to disciplinary action which could result in actions that threaten their future employment with Island Timberlands. A licence plate, vehicle description and time of access is really all we need for preliminary investigation. Hope to hear from you or others. and Thanks.
